What engine and transmission combo will fit in a 1963 grand prix?

Im rebuilding my first classic car and im wondering if someone can tell me what the best motor and transmission combination is that will be fairly easy to mount and install without alot of extra fabrication. I have already pulled the 389 out of it and
Stick with the pre 68 389's or 421's.Stay with Pontiac motors since the starter is on right side of motor where a chevy's starter is on left.Pontiac motors 68 and later had the motor mounts moved forward 1 1/2".
